Faith Stories

Walking With Me

Fr. Matthew and St. Isidore youth traveled to Rome last summer to immerse themselves in holy places, become friends with the saints, and grow deeper in faith alongside a million young Catholics from around the world.

I believe God called me to be a part of the Jubilee of Young People to help me better understand my faith. The trip helped me to feel more connected with the Catholic traditions I grew up with. It felt like God was walking with me during the pilgrimage.

Assisi was really impactful and peaceful. I had never been in such a historical and beautiful setting. Seeing the preservation of Catholic buildings and artifacts was a great experience.

I was also able to connect with Jesus through reconciliation, especially at the Vatican. Before Rome, I hadn’t been to reconciliation in months. Now that I’m back, I have a goal to go regularly.

This pilgrimage taught me to truly engage in my relationship with the Lord. This means to really dig deep in communicating with Him. It has changed my view of prayer.
