Fr. Matthew and St. Isidore youth traveled to Rome last summer to immerse themselves in holy places, become friends with the saints, and grow deeper in faith alongside a million young Catholics from around the world.
To be honest, I did not have a specific reason for going to Rome for the Jubilee of Young People. I just saw the opportunity and took it. I knew that even if I had no idea why God was calling me there, He would show me when I arrived. And He did. While I was there, He called me to pray for my family.
Being able to see Pope Leo while we were in Rome really impacted me. It was inspiring for me because he is rekindling the faith in kids and this gives me hope for this generation.
One of the most special moments was the night we went to the field and had Adoration with a million other kids. I really felt God calling me and was in deep prayer that night.
This experience showed me that I need to spend more time being quiet so I can listen to God. The more I did this in Rome, the more I heard from Him. I have brought this home with me and will keep doing it.
This experience showed me that I need to spend more time being quiet so I can listen to God.
