Fr. Matthew and the St. Isidore Youth Delegate team represented our parish at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. In this newsletter series, our youth share reflections on their encounter with Christ in the Eucharist.
The Eucharistic Congress was a once in a lifetime experience that I was happy to share with many wonderful people.
Matt Maher’s performance really spoke to me because I was able to reflect through music. Lots of reflection had been done throughout the Congress, but this one was different. At that moment, I knew that God was calling me. I realized that He had called me to the Congress.
There had been a lot of distractions during my life, but during the Congress I felt like nothing was between God and me. The consistent praying and Adoration also taught me how to flush away distractions in my life. The final Adoration was touching because during that, I felt no distractions. I felt the presence in the Eucharist praying with 60,000 Catholics and it made me feel very comfortable that the one thing that united us was God.
The Eucharistic procession and helping set up tables for the Eucharistic Village for the pilgrims gave me a sense of satisfaction and gratitude that I was given this opportunity for such an experience.
I felt the presence in the Eucharist praying with 60,000 Catholics and it made me feel very comfortable that the one thing that united us was God.
